Default Quick abs question

Does anybody know if you can just swap out the ABS module or are the vehicle specific?

You need matching numbers and letters. Even then a refresh with dealer level software may be required.

I swapped mine between my two 98 Jags. It did not work, the car was undriveable and had multiple lights and messages.

Pretty much. The usual soldering repair costs nothing, though.

On a positive note, I did swap a matching abs in my 97 and it works, although I did have to do a repair of the solder joints. The yard I bought it from refunded the purchase price rather than have me return it.

I've already pulled the module once and did the solder repair. That was a little over a year ago. No problems for over 6 months then I would get intermittent ABS light with the ASC/TRAC not available.

Almost seems to be heat related. For instance, this morning when I left for work no light. Temp was mid 70's. This afternoon when leaving work, temp 95+ immediate light upon starting.

Either way I'm pulling the module this weekend. I'm going to a junk yard tomorrow to get some other parts and was going to get a module too, but since the numbers have to match I doubt I will have much luck.

The yard has several XJ8's but I'm still not very hopeful.

What DTCs are logged in the module????

What if you replace the module and the fault returns????

What if a sensor or harness is at fault and you just keep replacing the module?????????

Are you diagnosing or throwing parts at you problem??

There are 5 different ABS modules for the X100/X308 cars.
Some are the same for both the sedan and the XK.

There is only one module for the later X308 and X100 (JLM21323) 9 valve (blue colored)-6 pipe, but I forget the VIN split. It is in the JEPC and the numbers on the module are NOT the actual part number that Jaguar uses.
