RealGauge installation review:)
I still haven't figured out my SLCM or BPM issue, but I had some more time to work on the car.
After it sat on the floor in my room for over a week I finally went ahead and installed the RealGauge kit.
It is easier to do than it looks. In the beginning it seemed a bit intimidating as the installation instructions are 21 pages long, but the reason why they are so long is because they are very detailed with pictures.
All in all it took me about 1.5 hours, but it's because I went real slow and at the same time I finally wired in the illumination to my boost gauge as I was tapping into the cluster harness. (FYI the Black is Ground, the White/Green is the switchable 12V and the Red/Orange is the dimmer/illumination on the left cluster connector)
The positaps that Steve provides are awesome. I'll probably buy some to have in the garage for my upcoming remote starter installation as they are by far the best splicing solution I came across.
Steve is a great guy and to my surprise responded to my e-mail question on a late Sunday evening in 15 minutes.

. I like how the needle illuminates the # on the gauge.
You amaze me. It took me most of a day, and I have a lift. Of course, being 72 may be a factor.

I have a lift too, but the gauge mod I did in my driveway. I didn't move the car or even get out of the drivers seat
I just realized the difference in time. I also did the oil gauge, and the lift was a big help. Fishing the cable past the steering was a pain.

That explains it. I wish I had an oil gauge for the XJ.
