Price seems about right given the tensioners are an issue. My indy was going to charge be about $1500 plus parts (~$250) to fix just the secondaries back in 2013. Brings the price to just about $10k if perfect.

 

I think it was a pretty fair price. Like he said, the car doesn't need a lot of expensive cosmetic work and another set of wood trim was included! The tensioners haven't failed yet so there's no engine problems as a result; just change them out. I agree with the seller, I'd rather buy a beautiful car and replace the tensioners than buy a cosmetic fixer-upper with new timing gear.
