Default Trans leak help identify pls

Just found this leak and in the one picture there's what looks like a electrical connection that's looking pretty wet. Would this have anything to do with the P0715 Input Speed sensor issue I've been having recently?

See the plug about mid way on left... what is it?

Dirty brown is probably engine oil leaking from output shaft or plug on the back of engine, but it could be leaking sump gasket
Try to track that red drop, does it come from power steering or the tranny?
No, it isn't related to the error, it is just bonus

Transmission fluid leaks can occur for various reasons, such as damaged cooling lines,
worn gaskets, and cracked seals. Tracing the causes of these leaks can be difficult.
It is very important to address them quickly and determine the fluid level in your tranny.
Low fluid levels can cause damage to your Jags’s transmission system. Some members
have found
the issue is the cooling lines leaking where the pipe becomes a hose. The
crimps there were reported to be of low quality and cannot be tightened up.

And if the red drop comes from gearbox then it is not filled with correct fluid

BONUS??? 😆 🤣 😂 nooo, the headliner coming down just prior to finding the leaks was the bonus!!! Never a dull day.

I'll look closer and ck the power steering. The engine oil ... wonder if its related to the tensioners that were just done? Didn't have any least before that. A full inspection is scheduled next week.

Headliner actually is a nice weekend project, and you can stick there any fabric you imagine and like, no more boring beige
Rear end leak have nothing to do with tensioners, perhaps you didn't spot it prior to the job but was there already

Thank you.
There is NO ATF colored RED compatible with a ZF 5HP24.

I was wondering about that. Thought I'd read zf fluid was a different color but can't recall what it was.

The power steering was over-filled but i couldn't find any traces of fluid anywhere. All I see is in the picture.

Oddly the last 2 days I've not had the gearbox fault or limp mode. I've been going through the gears before driving so maybe that helps.
Or
I have a car that needs Viagra.

I'm running outta weekends!! it looks like a lotta work taking out the head piece with many breakable parts along the way.. if I ever get ahead...

The oil leak or leaks yet to be identified. No sign of any source so fa. If I spot anything related to the tensioners the dealership will hear about it.

Fix the headliner with 1/4 in staples from a staple gun. Nobody will notice and you will have some peace of mind for a while.

Remove some of the red power steering fluid (you said it was overfilled); add some Lucas Power Steering assist (softens some of the seals). Drive it. Doesn't sound like you have a transmission or engine leak.

Maybe get it on a lift and check the steering rack.

Best news: you got the tensioners updated.

My XJR developed a power steering leak once, just enough to put a little drip on the floor & blow back over the gearbox. I nipped up the hose that went into the back of the pump & fixed it. It's been fine for several years no, so I figure it'd worked a fraction loose.

I did pull out the extra steering fluid. Getting it onto a lift is the crown jewel prize I'm after. Every jag owner needs one in their toolkit.
