that site doesnt exist. If you mean meuroparts.com, I couldn't find the part just because the site is so broken I didn't trust anything to work after a few pages. There should be dipsticks available on ebay for 7 bucks if you have an XJR. If you have an XJ8, I'm not sure.

Mystery cars usually have a low response because there are many variations and nobody wants to post a reply only to find out you have a different car.

Different engines, gearboxes etc.

I have thought about this myself. I have the web site and it lists the dip stick assembly for the 308. I really haven' found anything wrong with this web site but I haven't ordered anything from them.

Hello Ron,
In answering your question....yes, I have fitted the dipstick kit
two years ago ;o))
After a little drama, it is now set up properly and does the job
it's designed for.
Check out my Power Base page detailing the fitment ;o)

The only problem I had with fitting is the removal of the original
filler/level plug which had been damaged before my watch ;o)
Certainly makes life easier for checking or topping up.
I am soon to do a full gearbox flush via the trans. cooler hoses now
that I have the correct threaded fittings.
I will do a complete write up when the job is done.....will be in the New Year.

I hope it all is of some use to you ;o)
The fitting of remote oil filter has become a necessity for this
ancient frame of a body of mine that don't take kindly to grubbing
around under veeeehickles these days ;o))
Was an easy fit and works extremely well.
I do oil changes using a vacuum unit to suck oil out the dipstick tube.
Now with the installation of the auto trans dipstick, it means everything is serviceable from upstairs ;o))
JJ and I have been together 10 years now and he's covered 215,000klm and
going strong.

Default Transmission Dipstick for XJ8 / XK8

Good Morning to All,

As a follow up to questions about the Transmission Dipstick for the XJ8 / XK8

I have shipped about 79 kits for world wide. The furthest was to a guy in Russia who was adding a Supercharger to the stock engine for more power. He wanted a better way to dump and refill the fluid, without the mess of refilling from the service plug hole.

Each kit is hand made and calibrated to read the the correct level of the fluid when the car is up to running temperature.

If anyone has any suggestions for improvement, please share here or sent the suggestions to tem@meurosport.com

Please visit my website Home Page

Any suggestions on the website would be a big help,

Thank You to everyone who has purchased this kit. I really enjoy making the parts and always look for new ways to make the kit better.

Best Regards,

Tom

Hey Tom....thanks for your response.
I for one am a very satisfied customer after fitting the kit nearly three years ago now ;o)
I use Castrol Transmax-Z which I believe is marketed under another name in the US market.
I have used this oil for the last ten years.
I found the bend angle was not quite right to suit the Jaguar X308 engine bay.....with maintaining the dip stick tube parallel and level with the sump plate of the box, the top half of tube comes up at a different angle.
Easily fixed, I cut the rather long plastic handle down so it fits neatly under the bonnet/hood insulation and now works a treat. ;o))
