Please help someone. I have an 01 xjr the other day my check engine light came on and transmission fault lit up on driver screen. The car runs absolutely fine if i shut it off and back on. When the transmission fault occurs the car will go as fast as i want but wont shift past 2nd gear. Also at the same time this happens i get the dsc message and no trac lock message i know its not my trans ive been told maybe that adapter plug but i havent noticed any leaks and also was told could be left rear wheel sensor. Hoping someone else may have experienced this and can point me in the right direction.

 

What DTC(s) is/are logged in the ECM/TCM/ABS?????

That would be the place to start.

Hope this helps someone my problem ended up being a dirty rear wheel sensor driver side but i also cleaned all of them anyways car is back to normal.

 

Well after a little over a week car started acting up again. Im getting the transmission fault again. I know the trans is fine it makes no noises car shifts fine through all gears. But yesterday start it up to leave where i was at car goes to 2nd gear then the fault occurs i dont get limp mode i can go as fast as i want just wont shift. I dont go fast just saying then i can pull over shut car off and start back up and be on my way again. Last time i got 2 codes now only get 1 p0730 which is incorrect gear ratio i sometimes get the dsc no trac lights as well funny thing is if those come up first car will drive fine just have the abs light on. I pulled the abs module today and opened it up didnt see any bad solder joints. I will check trans fluid level tomorrow but really seems like something with my abs. Any suggestions?
