Transmission lines
I need to establish what I'm looking at. I replaced the radiator in my 98 XJR. There are two lines on the drivers side that thread into the radiator that appear to be transmission cooler lines. Is this correct? What spilled out looks like transmission fluid to me. I ordered a dipstick and some fluid, but I need to know for sure if what I lost was in fact tranny fluid or is there something else I need to top off?
Other threads indicate that the cooler capacity is 3 quarts. That seems like too much from what I'm seeing here. That's why I'm making sure that this is in fact transmission fluid. No idea what else it could be.
Assuming it is transmission fluid, how much fluid was in the radiator? Eventually the dipstick I ordered will arrive, I'm just making sure I know what I'm looking at here. Thank you for your help.
