how I got mine...
My 99 came with only one key so I bought a couple of blanks on ebay, had a spare cut to match my key at a local locksmith (won't work if you don't have the keys, I know), then went to the dealer, and paid them to code the key. They needed my title and license to make sure I owned the car. The blanks were $20 shipped to my door, cutting one key was $25, and coding that key was $45. It could be that for a higher price you could have the dealer cut and code the key with just the VIN information. I'm not sure if they'd work with blanks they didn't sell you. I'm picturing something like $300 per key for the dealer to do this but that's just a guess. Of course the keyless remote is another story. They seem to be unique to the 308's so I still have my eye out for a used one that I can reprogram once inside the car but so far the cheapest I found was $90 off ebay for a visibly worn example. Even with the key in hand you'll set the alarm off if you turn the wrong way. I found that out the first day my cat was sitting in the driveway.
Good luck....
Good luck....

one might do...
I think one key would be ok to get in the car and with the key in the ignition you could program the remote to your car. Two keys are of course nice to have. I haven't lost one in a long time (kids have grown out of that stage, thankfully) but they still get misplaced. I have yet to lock the keys in my car when the spare is within walking distance though...

I'm soon going to be having some new keys cut and programmed to match my car. I'll let you know how I get on. There is a locksmith who is able to do this, I won't have to visit a dealer.
As far as the remotes go, there are brand new ones on eBay uk with 3 buttons or 4 buttons. The 2000 onwards cars operate their remotes on a different frequency to the older ones, so as long as its 433mhz it will work. I bought a 3 button one to have as a spare for £5 and it works fine.

I haven't got round to doing this yet as I've had a load of more important things to sort on the car. I've got the new set of plain keys sitting waiting to be cut and programmed, I just need to sort out the other things first.
I will report back once it's done, I just don't know when that will be yet.
