Default V-8 Pillar badges refreshing,

Going to freshen up the V-8 badges on the pillars, any insider tips on getting them off without marring the pillar or breaking the badge ?!

I plan on painting the faded black backdrop a nice BRG.

Thanks !

You may be able to save yourself the painting and simply put some WD40 on a toothbrush to see if it cleans off the residue and leaves you with a nice black finish. Yes WD40 is a water repellent, but it also works great removing road grime and such, especially on detailing. It may take a few times with some elbow grease depending on the build up, but its worth the effort when successful...you have the factory finish.

I was thinking the BRG would look nice, we shall see though !

Edit :
I may just buy 1 off E-Bay & see what the BRG idea looks like before I risk mucking up mine lol.

Burnt red is my choice as I plan on having that in other highlight spots around with the original blue / green Nautilus mica paint

Got them off & playing w/ a black Sharpie for the background, going to get a fine tip metallic silver paint pen & see how it goes.

If you know someone building jet engines we use a real silver pencil on the high temp exhaust turbine blades to number them . Would have to spray a clear paint over to protect it . Otherwise you can smash and splinter a toothpick for a detail brush with what spray you find .

They have a tape backing as well as 2 prongs that fit into holes on the pillar.

Edit :
Deco-Color Premium Silver Leaf(metallic)paint pen for lettering, Sharpie black backdrop, the key is to trace in one continuous motion, I had it perfectly smooth until I bumped my work table alas is life lol. I plan to hit it w/ a light spray of clear coat before I install.

The perfectionist in me armed w/a magnifying glass will likely have another go @ filling in the minuscule gaps I see w/ magnification, the blessing & the curse lol.
