You still got 4 wheels to do, that makes it 7, plus 4 covers, is 11.
List is growing ....

Thanks, but no, went through that already, pump was replaced last year.

When I said chirp, I really meant a metal "singing", not the usual old-belt-chirp (which the car also had sometimes, solved when I replaced the belt together with the pump).

Pretty sure it was the idler pulley, but I will know if it is gone after a next ride.

After suddenly getting an ABS dash light, No Traction Control and No Stability Control notifications, I opened up the ABS module and resoldered the power connectors. The resolder took care of the faults.

We'll count the wheels as 1 project but with me winning a brand new set of tires last month, the rims are on the end of my list.

But fixing the door cable revealed more tasks, the door check plate has pulled through so I will be ordering that soon. I also discovered some broken clips.

Edit :
Well draining the rear differential in a open air garage w/ no heating, 28 degrees FH @ 2 am turns out be time consuming lol.
But the end goal was met ! Shocks, door cable & rear differential all done !

Next on deck is interior LED upgrade & a thorough exterior cleaning complete w/ clay bar.

Recieved a call from my car's previous owner, turns out the A-drum he replaced 7k miles before my tenure, was indeed from a used unit. I was kind of stumped as to why I had drum failure less than 10k miles from the 1st repair.

Turns out he's not really the internet/technology type of guy so all the info. privy to us concerning the transmission was/is lost on him. But he found some paperwork whilest in his attic getting Christmas decorations & sending them to me next week. Will be nice to have documentation as to what's been done, because he was a very "alert" owner.

Edit :
Updated To-Do List

1. Door Check Arm & Plate, fasteners
2. Pressure test for leak : Replace Bleeder & heater hoses : Lower radiator MNC4515AD, Bleeder MNC 4582AC, Check water pump for leak. Pump : Airtex AW4124 , Belt: NCA2211AC
3. J-Gate & Cruise lights : Chicago Miniature 8097 bulb or Radio Shack Bulb # 272-1154
4. Windshield nozzle replaced : Washer Tubing JLM20619
5. AC Switch : LJA7658BA
6. Sunroof back on track
7. Wood restored
8. Rim project
9. Brake Duct : HNC4469AF

I still haven't had a chance to do this yet! Basically I've not had the weather for it, every time I've had a day off it's been either raining, snowing or frosty.

However I did use the car all weekend and she was great. Went out on a late night run to pick my girlfriend up from an event. Driving through the fashionable area of the city, I had lots of people looking on and taking photos of the car.
Saturday, I bumped into my mate in his new 2017 Jaguar XF 3.0 TDV6 whilst en route to my parents. We got a bit carried away, but my little XJ held her own and showed the new kid a clean pair of heels.
Sunday I went to do some Christmas shopping, again the Jag came out to play. I was disappointed that the rain stopped whilst I was out, and by the time I got home it had begun again

I'll be off later this week, I'm going to give her a deep clean!

Replaced a jerry-rigged coolant bleed hose, and repaired the rear bench lower anchor plates. After driving around to test the new lines, the fitting for the engine bleed line (the one pointing towards the throttle body from the expansion tank) cracked and started leaking. While trying to inspect it and covering it in shop towels to keep from getting operating temp coolant sprayed at my face and the engine, the vacuum line for the cruise control broke into pieces.

So I basically managed to net zero repairs today but that bleed hose is now getting jerry-rigged instead. The way it cracked, it was probably on its way out for a while, and that would explain the very slight occasional coolant smell I'd get when parked after driving hard, that I could never trace past the TB area. Luckily it looks like that hose is much cheaper than the other bleed hoses, so a proper replacement won't hurt too much...

Also finally took some videos of a weird noise my engine has been making (thread to come later...). Always impressed at how much the sound dampening does on these cars, the noise was much more painful sounding once I had the hood popped and windows open to hear it better.

EDIT: I also replaced a creaky door check. +1 repair!

Stripping spare cars always brings the little awards, in this case a new center clock.

My car came with the first generation chrome one, which looked like a failed attempt by Jaguar to set if off from the rest of the gauges.
Bad to see clear, all reflecting day and night, did not like it.

Stumbled upon the 3rd generation, which is the same style as the gauges.
Just cleaned it up, installed, an other little pleasure ...

And then of course a million small parts, always handy to have around if there are so many X308's around:

Yesterday I was finally able to give the car a wash. I gave her a two bucket wash, then aqua waxed the body and used custom wheel cleaner on the wheels and tyres. I then cleaned the leather, hoovered the carpets and made a few little adjustments here and there.
Then I went to the petrol station and filled the tank because I’ll be using the car for the next two weeks so she’ll get dirty again!

I just received a new "Arden" brand leaping cat for my 308. Cost me a cool 450 Euro. Ought to look good when I will have the hood re-sprayed.

Had a bloody good thrashing yesterday. Used the manual shift area of the 5hp24. Into the revlimiter and next gear. Went through quarter of a tank in less than 30 minutes... Fun! Parked it up and the exhaust was cracking for a few hours. I just need the lower steering column replaced and the springs how I want them and the car droves how I want it to

In the spirit of the holiday & being I didn't decorate the house this year. I will deck the halls err pillars & doors w/ LED lights !

Little did the kids here know that all the recent package deliveries were for the Jag & not them lol. My garage work station desk is riddled w/ all kinds of goodies !

My wiper is not spitting out windscreen washer fluid despite the fact that fluid seems to be taken out off the washing fluid holder when I depress the wiper fluid button. Any suggestions?

The fluid drains out of the lines and takes a longer pumping time to get the lines filled and to the nozzles . You can remove the lines up near the nozzles as they can be clogged . The X300 nozzles are heated otherwise yours may be frozen with a underrated freezing point fluid .

I fitted X300 ones to my X308, and tapped into the heated front screen circuit for the heated aspect of them to work. It's a really easy mod and IMO works better than the one on the wiper arm. You just need the X300 washer jets. Alternatively you could fit a second pump in the line and tap into the screen wash circuit.

I've been using my X308 on a daily basis whilst I've been off over Christmas, it's been quite nice. I've got to go into work tomorrow though, but as I'll be the only one from the entire company who is in then I'll use the Jag for that too.
