Carefully bent wire coathanger, with a small wad of paper towel taped to the end; some Windex and a lot of fishing the rod through the hole the bulb fits in.

I've seen people use compressed air with a small cotton towel in the housing to clean/dry them out. In the past I have used glass cleaner, then water and air, just don't use too much PSI or you may blow the reflective material off if it's flaking at all! Looks good, Phil.

Technically not today, but Wednesday night I put in a warranty replacement power steering pump to get rid of the whine and I replaced the two bump stops on the front shocks. Pics below, maybe this will stop some of that clunking.

Waiting on ASI to re-repair my throttle body so I can't test drive it yet, but I'm anxious to see how it feels and sounds. Those old stops might just be original...bet the rear ones are worse.

Where did you pick those up at? Mine have disintegrated.

Appreciate that, thank you. I ask because there's plenty places out there and I've had some bad experiences already trying to buy spares for the car.

Fixed the high level stop lamp. Needed a few bulbs and found a suitable size thing to put underneath it (35mm film container).

Left side upper oxygen sensor replaced today. My throttle body is out and I need an inspection sticker, so ithere isn't going to be much easier access. Hardest part was that darn upper heat shield. Bolts came out ok after soaking and applying steady pressure with a 1/4" drive ratchet so I didn't risk snapping them. Sensor was hard to get to sensor socket on but once it was on straight it eventually busted loose. Spent about 2 hours, maybe a bit more, but it's done and all buttoned up now.

Yesterday I got the news the local Jag specialist has cancelled my booking to get the front spring pans changed tomorrow. Turns out they've lent out the special tool & it's never been returned. That's rather annoying as one was an advisory on the MOT last year & that's due in Nov. I should have got it done earlier but just never got around to it.

Any suggestions for a place near Doncaster, England that can do it? Don't say The Jag Specialist as that's the guys who cancelled the booking.

Vacuumed the aircon system down.

It held a good vacuum.

Refilled it, 20oz. Pressures exactly where they should be. Ice cold air from the vents.

Happy with that.

I replaced the ac pressure switch and got more confused.

And I worked on putting the Jaguard name plate back together.
It was 3m trim taped and glued but it was coming apart.

I split the halfs and used goo gone to remove all the old adhesive, hot glue, and tape.

then i roughed up the mating surfaces and used some Loctite 495 to glue the name plate back to the mount adding more in the through holes as a rosette weld of glue.

Now to get it back on the car.......

Well I found another place it's booked in for a month's time as they are busy. They are a Jag specialist who were suggested by another Jag specialist who doesn't go as old as mine any more. So fingers crossed they are decent, they're doing the MOT too so hopefully don't invent lots of problems when they get their hands on it.

I don't have a decent drive to do such jobs, wouldn't be able to walk for days with backache after trying to do it & really don't want to go near car springs as I never feel safe with them.

It's 15mile away in a direction with crap transport links though, so gawd knows what I'll do all day when they have it.

I bought a cheap X308, unfortunately too rusted to keep on the road. Also over 350,000 km with an engine that has overheated several times (found afterwards; broken thermostat)... Parts car! But I found a buildsheet in the center console with someone who signed the car off with the same name as me! That was a surprisingly nice thing

Put insurance and registered the car, passed inspection and went out for a drive.

Drives nicely. Happy now.

Pulled half the dash to bits to remove the face vent damper actuator motor on the airbox.

Obviously they didn't intend on this being worked on with the dash attached. Pft. A small amount of violence and the actuator is out.

Pulled it apart, discovered the motor wasn't doing anything (not even drawing current) when connected to power, so I took it apart and cleaned the brushes and commutator. Now it spins happily and the potentiometer works. Just need to put it back in now.

it wasn't today but very recently.
replaced front suspension
had two bent front rims (dont pop wheelies on aluminum borbeits folks) so replaced all four borbeit rims with identicals for $80 (score)
four new tires
replaced front door speakers with infinity Primus and put used door tweeters in front (dang proprietary clip)
new full load breather hose
---
before that she got new fuel lines, new fuel tank, new fuel pump and fuel filter, new driver side window motor, new driver side master control cluster, seat replaced on interior trunk button. I'm probably forgetting stuff but got the documentation somewhere
