it is pollen season again and South East Virginia. Meaning that the yellow green powder will be taking over everything for about the next month. I sprayed her off and tried her up real well and hoping it will last the night. But, this pollen is relentless and it will be yellow green again in no time.

like many other folks that I've read about, I am also a victim of the droopy headliner from the sunroof back to the rear window. I was able to use 7 of the furniture screws to hold the headliner in place. 5 across the top of the ridge after the hump and two behind it. It doesn't look that bad 4 of True Civ. It looks much better than having a drooping headliner that people have rubbed against them with the windows cracked or down or the sunroof open.

Mine has got it's original factory mats, with the logo on each one. They are a lovely deep pile & came up like new after an intensive pressure wash & an intensive hoovering. I have a spare set of non factory tailored ones too which are in good nick.

I had my headliner replaced with new material during the rebuild, it is a slightly different material than OEM, but it will stay up there with the glue used.

I'm actually on the look out for a seat cover as my Ivory leather gets dirty quickly during the week when I'm at work.

Sunday took mine out for it's 1st semi-extended hard run with my son(he has a need for speed @ 10 years old lol). 0-125mph a couple times 70+ in a nice curvy spot. She handled very nicely w/ no concerns. Also my inaugural "sport mode" voyage as well.

Hi
Today i change the front Brake pads. I found on the car pads made by Delphi, the new one are made by ATE code 13.0460-6033.2, Made in Germany.
Those pads are also use in 7 series E32 and 5 series E34 540I and M5 3.6
I measure the brake disk and the size is 325mm for non R XJR.
Still to come secondary tensioner, supercharger oil and final drive oil. Another thing to do is to change an warnings bulb on the cluster instrument. The one who show me if i have the lights on is dead.
best regards

I washed and waxed "the Duchess" and shined her chrome. The set about finding the best leather seat repairman to fix a newly developed seam separation. I hate water spots!!!!!

By the by, Deborah is far too common for such majesty.

I noticed a new door ding -- big one on the passenger's side -- must've happened today, but I was parked at the end of the row, so it had to be from a pedestrian, not a car -- I do not understand why people have to hurt my car, this isn't the 1st time. At least the paint isn't chipped, but the dent is pretty noticeable.

Other than that, what did I do today? I rolled over 101,000 miles, that's all!

I agree, people today are selfish. We live in a throwaway age and that has found it's way down to cars. The average person doesn't see my lovely XJ8 as my pride & joy that's looked after, they see a 14 year old lump that isn't as new as their 2013 KIA which will be thrown away in 2 years in favour of a 2016 Hyundai cream puff.

Hence why I try to park in the emptiest part of the car park & take 2 spaces.

Replaced the antenna mast, don't listen to tunes in an automatic car wash!
New Bridgestone Potenzas all the way around, new front sway bar links, alignment, K&N air filter and synthetic oil change. 153k on the clock and get compliments everyday!!!

I know what everybody is saying about the dings, I get them and park very carefully, don't take up 2 spots though, that just brings out more haters!

Pulling two spaces in the US is a good way to get your car seriously vandalized or someone WILL park in one of those spots you took.

Entitlement is not tolerated well here.

Default Parking

I tend to park away from the other cars also. People today just do not pay attention or care when they "sling" open their car doors or have children who have never been taught the meaning of consideration for others.

It is strange though, when I have parked 6 spaces away from the nearest car and come back to find a 1990 Kia parked right next to me, still with six spaces between me and the next car. I suspect that seeing a nice car parked away from the others promotes jealousy and a secret desire to "show" that owner that he is not going to get away with protecting his car in a public environment.

Well here in the uk the X308 is a very big car and parking in regular spaces will leave you with very little room between the car next to you. When I was in the USA I noticed the XJ was small looking in the spaces there.
A lot of spaces here are pay to park so I buy 2 tickets. That said anyone remember my airport parking thread?

Yeah the US has a long history of giant cars. The XJ doesn't even get into that list.

Yes, Tennessee is also under attack by the dreaded pollen. Yesterday, after polishing "the Duchess",all was great, but this afternoon I ran my hand down her hood and found it coated in the yellow stuff. In the morning everything the dew touches becomes caked and repulsive.

I MUST figure some sort of electrostatic charging utensil which will repulse the negatively charged pollen and dispense with the brownian motion of pollen.
Do you think it might sell?

Today I replaced my thermostat housing with a nice new aluminum model

No more leaks or hoses popping off hopefully!
