Mine sound a little bit different not so deep and i don't know what "blue collar" sounds like so i will make a video. This is with the X crossover pipe, center and first set of mufflers removed.

 

replaced the fuel filter which was a pain! and did an oil change which was a mess!!

also after replacing spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and doing an oil change the random misfire code keeps popping back up, someone PLEASE help me get rid of this code

 

"Blue collar"= more american muscle car, healthy, but not terribly refined

 

so after an oil change i kept checking the oil level, and 8 qt later she is finally just a hair over the full mark

 

I put new KYB shocks on the front. I now don't have to worry about my door mirrors scraping the road on hard turns due to body lean. They are much firmer, but the ride quality combined with XJR 18" rims is still very good on my VDP, but it is now much sportier.

Safi, did you ever figure out the trunk lid corner lifting issue? My car was the same way when I bought it, only it was the driver's side corner that was high on mine. I replaced the trunklid to eliminate some hail damage, and spent an inordinate amount of time making sure that corner was down when I was lining the panel up. It looked great for about a week, and then the corner started coming up again slowly, and now it's right back to being super high again. I'm thinking I need to shim the hole in the hinge maybe? Or get a new hinge? All I can figure is that the hole in the hinge may be wallowed out and vibration is causing the forward bolt to slowly slide up and let the trunklid corner rise. I really want to get this fixed, it looked SO much better when it was in its proper place.

 

I applied quite a bit of opposite lock more than a few times today. Snow can be fun.

Finally after about three weeks I finished the rest of the car. Looks great but now covered for the winter and have the battery hooked to the maintainer charger.

nope still havent fixed that trunk corner, im thinking i may need a new hinge as well, its frustrating to look at, but my main task at hand is doing the thermostat and getting that Green Coolant flushed out

 

Washed, clayed and detailed inside/out. Chrome asteroids look great with anthracite metallic.

Although this was last night, but had to educate a late model Lexus LS 460 on what the R stands for. He was not a happy camper

My Daimler underwent cavity sealing and got new underbody protection.

 

After 8 hours of driving transit bus in this busy city I had a Need for Speed! So I fired up my VDP and got my thrill ...........

 

I changed all four rotors, and brake pads yesterday. The brakes feel grrrreat! Got the whole package from the place called "CBrakes" in Garden Grove. Slotted and cross drilled rotors, and semi metalic pads. Good for another 50-60K. The whole job was $275.- plus three hours of my labor.

As there doesan't seem to be a follow up on this, I will add my tuppence worth ;o))

Judging by the photo, I would suggest that the missalignement has been caused during opening and possibly in strong winds.
You only have the corner lifted on the left pass. side and the shut lines seem OK so, the only adjustment needed will be at the hinge mounting....not at the boot/trunk panel mounting but the hinge mounting to the body uner the rear parcel shelf.
You will need to remove back panel of boot/trunk interior to properly gain access to it.

Check for operation and security and if necessary add spacers to the hinge mounting screws to physically position the hinge itself a little lower so the trunk lid sits flush.
A little jiggery pokery and all will be well ;o)

To test for gaps around the seal, I cut up a sheet of A4 into strips about 1.5" wide, place on seal and close lid and try to pull out strip.
A firm grip and it's OK, if it slides too easily, the boot/trunk lid catch arm may need adjusting downwards to effect a tighter seal.
Of course, if seal looks a bit worn or perished, replace it.

These lids should not be slammed down as a lot of people tend to do....let it drop under it's own weight and then press from the top to make sure it has closed.

briefly...

I put a set of 255-40ZR18 Michelin Pilot Super-Sports on the
XJR. I had a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus in the same
size, but returned them to Michelin within 30 days under
Michelin's Promise Plan.

I thought they rode beautifully, but the turn in lost its sharpness,
which was a compromise I decided not to live with. I can
list a few more problems, but moving right along...

would like, I can write up reviews comparing the tires, but
I'm very busy until the end of this week)

The Super Sport has 90% of the ride comfort, more grip, and
the turn-in and steering feel are brilliant. Remember, these are
the tires that actually made their debut with the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Since the Ferrari was due to be released before the PSS was, Ferrari
made a deal with Michelin to release the car with PSS tires, but since
PSS had yet to be officially released, they were branded as Michelin
Pilot Sport PS2. A tire which, in our size, is substantially more expensive,
and one which lasts considerably fewer miles.
