Default Which wires feed power to the fuel pumps and how to access them?

My Kenne Bell GT500 Dual Boost A pump has arrived and I would like to get ready to wire it in.

Can anyone tell me, or even better, post a photo, of which wires feed power to the fuel pumps and where these wires are located and accessed?

Lots of lawn clippings

I think you will figure it out when you get ready to remove the pumps through the flange. Are you going to put two pumps in?

This unit does not require removal of the fuel pumps you simply slice into the existing power feed wires in series. It makes the stock pumps flow up to 50 percent more flow. The Boost a pump is a really good product Kenne Bell has some good stuff.

Hi Jeff
Information from Electrical Guide for 2000 Jaguar XJR:
Looks like the power feed to the 2 fuel pumps comes from the Engine Control Module.
Pin EM83-04 wire color is WR (White with Red tracer) is for fuel pump 1.
Pin Em82-03 wire color is WB (White with Black tracer) is for fuel pump 2.

Here is a JPEG showing the ECM pinouts and the Trunk fusebox (click on image when the dropbox webpage opens to get a better view):

Jim,

Thank you for this!

Do you think it would be best to splice the Boost A Pump (BAP) in after the fuse box and before the pumps, otherwise I would be running more juice through the relays than originally...?? If I splice in after the fuse box, then it would only be the pumps getting the extra juice, which sounds best, yes??

So my question becomes should I splice the BAP into the orange wire for Fuel pump #2 and Brown with green tracer for fuel pump #1? This would also likely be the easiest access to the wires too.

Jeff, You should email the JPEG file I created to the tech support at Boost a Pump.
They probably will be able to give you more accurate advice about where to wire in the Boost a Pump.

I would be careful since it appears that the ECM is involved with the Fuel pumps operation and you do not want to start having DTC issues, such as Restricted Performance.

In the trunk, on top of the tank is the 4 prong plug that the pumps plug into. It would be easy to connect there if you are connecting after the fuses/relays.

Yes, within minutes of your post I emailed them with the JPEG file I am trying to call them but their line is busy busy.

As to the ECU control, as I understand it, the BAP only steps up the voltage when the boost switch is activated (at WOT). I've read somewhere on this board that the 2nd fuel pump may kick in after 3000 rpm, is this true, or if not, how is it controlled via ECU? The BAP will only step up the voltage when there is a voltage to step up, so it shouldn't be a problem on the 2nd pump?

What are "DTC issues"?

Just talked to someone at Kenne Bell

Just wire them after the inertia switch before the fuel pump x 6 was what he kept saying...

That, and there are only 2 models of BAP, the single with the adjustable voltage and the Dual which comes in 2 models, street 17.5v and competition 20V

I wasn't able to get any farther with this as they of course are not well versed in Jag peculiarities (very low volume customer for any mods), and the schematic still shows the best place is to splice in is right before the pumps after the relays.

So I'll just give it a go with the orange and brown wires just before I add a +4lb lower pulley while running a stock upper pulley on a 5th gen Eaton. I want to get everything dialed in and dyno baseline tested before making the one change of adding a lower pulley and seeing what that one change does for boost, power and speed.
