Default X308 Show Cars

Who takes their 1998-2003 XJ to shows? I got mine (a 2001 silver/black VDP) in the fall and have detailed the s**t out of it and plan on taking it to a few British car shows. Its not a concours car, but it is nice, and I LOVE seeing X308s at those types of shows because it demonstrates their beauty and the fact that although they are still relatively new, they are already classics.

I took my XJR to a car show a little over a year ago, my silver XJR and that series III XJ6 were the only XJ models there.

Two fine specimens! What year is your series III, late 80's? Is that a Sovereign?

I sure miss my 01 XJR. It was one of the finest models ever made. IMHO

Jaginblack: sorry I see now that my sentence structure is confusing, I only own the XJR, I do not own that XJ6, or any XJ6...yet. But if I remember I think it was a 1986 model.

Chuck08XJR: I agree

Still, looks like fun even with "only" one Jag. I love my XJ8L, but admit to lusting after the R models. Not in a Jimmy Carter way, mind you, but still...

I'm a 1986 model! LOL
My XJ8 was on display at a rally my dad had a stand at promoting Heritage Stock Cars. It wasn't meant to be on display I parked it where I thought it was out the way, and it ended up being part of a line of display cars! Still I forgave my Dad for putting Pace Car signs & flags on it though so it looked the part!

Wink Shows

I did show my car last October at a British Car show here in Va. I used to take my '85 SIII XJ6 every year. I didn't win anything, but it was fun anyway. I have 5 or 6 trophies from my SIII, but I no longer own that one. It seems that people vote (at a popular vote show) for the older cars usually, although the X308s are getting more popular. It doesn't make much sense to give a tropy to someone who brings a car less than 5 years old, since it doesn't take much to make them look good. I think the X308s are great looking cars. Too bad the X350s and the XFs don't keep up the legacy.

Funny story, Stu.

I'll second that opinion on the X308s, Jimmy. I have a couple of paint blemishes to work out, but then I hope to get mine out to a meet. Might be a nice break from hauling me to the office everyday ;o)
