Hello! I have a problem with my 2002 x308 XJ Sovereign. The reverse lights are on and parking sensors work when in Drive mode. It seems that it thinks that it is in Reverse mode all the time... What is the most likely cause? J-gate (is there a sensor?) or it the control module not okay? Any help and explanation are very welcome!

 

Check both ends of the shift cable, starting with the trans end, in case it's loose or stretched.

 

Thx. Shifting itself is absolutely, car drives perfect. Switching from P to R to N and D is fine. But in all positions, the parking sensors work and reverse lights are on. So how can it be related to this cable?
