Default xj8 suspension upgrade

is there a stiffer spring/shock setup available for my '98 xj8 4.0L lwb, the ol'girl tends to wallow excessively on the curvy stuff,to the point of being scary, or would new standard items do the job (I dont know what it should feel like new!), would the xjr setup work?, BTW, im in the UK.

if she's wallowing, more than likely the shocks are kaput! (<- my best german). Have an indy shop give you a 'professional' opinion, but that's my guess. Sway bar bushings may be contributing as well.

Does she bounce too much on straights, or just 'roll' in the corners?

Yes. Mina Gallery suspension. I am in the process of ordering the Mina Gallery Suspension upgrade. It cost around $350 with previous purchases from Mina Gallery. I plan on giving my overall opinion of the suspension upgrade. I do know that it lowers the car 1.25 inches. www.minagallery.com

i Have springs from XKZ on my XJR and it works fine. But my car isn´t a LWB and i have the CATS suspension so it wasnt so bad to start with. But it became stiffer with the new springs thats for sure.

If you need new shock i would go for bilsteins and buy them for an XJR or sports modell then they will be stiffer

Yes, I think the xjr setup (shocks and springs) is the way to go, can anyone confirm that it would fit?

es if tou dont have CATS just u sport without CATS. its alot cheaper aswell. an easy way to spot if you have CATS is to look at the top of the frontdamper (easily spoted under the bonnet) If there are wires goin in to the top of the damper you have CATS if it doesn´t then well you don´t have it

It depends where you are in the World - location?
UK-Europe there are the factory Jaguar XJR options, Sport and Supersport springs, dampers, AR bars, and bushes can all be added to an XJ8. Hardly racing spec, but an improvement nonetheless.
USA - not certain but the sport option was only available on the XJR? (look at forum ads with XJR's getting parted?)
There are tuning houses out there that offer packages, someone with aftermarket kit on here may help.

It is hard to build a heavy Jaguar to "racing" spec, however I am certain that
there are those who will try.
