Default XJ8 X308 Upper Sump Removal.

XJ8 X308 Upper Sump Removal.
Doe's anyone know if this is an engine out job or if it is possible to do by loosening some of the engine mounts and jacking the engine up a bit?

Cheers

Dave

I have not tried it myself but the manual says it's possible.

If your trying to do it in your garage, that's gonna be quite a chore. Personally, I've never tried it. By the time you manage getting to it, you're either gonna end up removing the subframe or pulling the engine. I'd recommend doing the engine pull. Why are you wanting to pull the bed plate off?

It's damaged, something went through the front end of the car. I have a new one all ready to be fitted.
I just have to remove it, there is zero give in the engine mounts so I figured i would try to jack the engine up off the mounts and slide it across the subframe.
