The pump NEEDS to be running or the fluid will pour out.
The pump lowers the fluid level when it is operating.

Default Success!!! Finally changed fluid

What an ordeal it has been but it has been done. Changed it out twice and each time I removed a gallon and put back same.

Figured out the touchy temperature thing and somehow got it done within the limits. Test drove and seems fine. About to drive it again then tomorrow we'll see if it is still leaking or leaking less or more. First glance I saw no oil on the mat.

I added a stop leak sealer as a last resort. Final pick was Blue Devil transmission sealer and used about 10 ounces.

I'd be surprised if it quit leaking already since it wasn't driven very far. Did idle a good bit but let me do my usual run then see.

I won't do a 3rd change until I'm ready to install a dipstick. I've had enough fun for awhile. Four solid months of trouble shooting, fixing etc has worn me out. I want to drive it not work on it. Maybe I've earned my wings?

Thank you all.

Richard

This was my mistake. I was on the wrong side and area of the pan. I fought with the tranys oil pump compression spring. Opps. All good now.

Default giving up for now

Parts I ordered wouldn't fit in the tight space and I'm tired of messing with it. Since I stopped the leak and changed the fluid I should be good for awhile.
