Default Belt Removal Help

I need some step by step help and advice on a belt removal. I have attached some pictures of a belt I found deteriorating and I want to replace it before snapping as its begun to tear on the outer edge.

Essential could you explain exactly what it is? where might I find one to purchase (Vancouver area)? and most importantly how do I remove it?

Hi, that's the air injection pump. The belt part number is EAC6335 not very expensive, (about $10) but you'll have to shop around to find one - try googling the part number and see what comes up.

cheers

Well I've never taken one off but looks fairly straightforward - in your pic #5, looks like you slacken off the air pump mounting bolts and move the pump towards the thermostat housing - with the belt now slack, you should be able to remove it. Install the new one then lever the air pump back into position and re-tighten the bolts - offhand, I don't know the correct belt tension but the spec is probably listed somewhere in Haynes?

cheers
