Default code

hey guys got yet another problem got in my car this morning and went to turn on the radio and well the radio is asking for a code which is really weird. so i tryed punch something in that i thought may work and well found out that it has to be from 1 to 6 and a 4 digit number so yea. another thing that i noticed was that my clock keeps flashing from am to pm. im tempted to just unplug the battery but im not to sure if it will make things worse. thanks for ur guy's input

your local jag dealer shall be able to get your radio code with proper proof of ownership, as for the clock have you disconnected the battery of had a power failure?
check your fuses...

sneby:
You will need that code each time you disconnect your battery, so keep it close! My code is actually inscribed on the bottom side of my bonnet. I can only imagine a technician put it there along the way. I don't think it's common. But, if one should lose the code all together?...

Cheers!

The 1990 to 1994 XJ6/12 U.S. cars came with a paper label on the left underside of the bonnet with the 4 digit radio code. If I saw that the label was peeling or fading I would scribe the number into the paint to preserve it. It saved asking the customer for the handbook if it was missing from the cubby or removing the radio head unit for the serial number and asking the service advisor to log in to the secure Jag sit. When I was at the dealer, I could log on for some info but NOT for key or radio codes.
