Default How do you remove a startblocking system

Hi I just went to MOT with my XJ40 XJR, startet twice with no problem att all at home, but late at the MOT it just wouldn't it just wouldn't start.

We had start cables on it to be sure the battery hasn't crashed, but everything light up but the starter don't run at all, so i suspect the aftermarket security system, called startblocking her.

It has been doing this before but i got it rolling after some time, just not today.

I have no use for it, so i thought well maybe its rather simple just to remove it or maybe not because then it would not be so effective.

Dos anyone know if its just to follow the cables and remove them ?

Its a system like this

I'd recommend going to an auto electrician who has experience in installing these systems.

If it's been properly installed then there may be difficult to revert as such immobilisers are installed in such a way to deter theft.

Cheers

I had an xj40 where it was indeed simpy follow the wires...

the anti theft system had only used 1 orignal wire (the one powering the starter relay). So I could just take out the entire system, connect both ends of the starter wire and it fired right up.

Easy for me, but a bit annoying when you paid a lot for a security system and find out this is all that was done...

Now you say that it sounds like the fuelpump is starting up anyway so it might verywell be just the starter relay.
