Default Phanthom Lights...

Hi, I had the anti lock warning light come on and it remained steady even after shutting the car off and resetting. After we took her for a drive and went for dinner, the light illuminated and clearednormally after the self checks. Spooooky. The following morning it is back. Steady this time? Is this a known problem? I'm thinking this circuit is just sensitive and have read somewhere that this often occurs on the XJ due to brake dust interfering with the sensor?? Anyone? Ah Jags...you gotta love em.

That one is wide open. Could be a loss of pressure or just an ABS sensor giving up the ghost.

Yeah, I'm going to take it in on Monday. There's no problem with the brakes but the light is bugging me. The shop seems to think it's something minor as they just did the brakes recently.

Nope, the old girl is a 93, I'm thinking she's like the other love of my life...sensitive, prone to mood swings, and high maintenence

Well, post 93 is my fave XJ40s . I think Jaguar shoudda kept making them a few years more just like they did in Serie III

Well everyone has their own opinion, but I always loved the look of the Series III's but I think theXJ40's were the sleekestlooking of the Mark. I often thought Rolls could have borrowed a little fromlines of the XJ40 especially around the front profile. Picture if you will the classicRolls grill on this model. The 93 XJ is simply perfect in it's styling, although purists would take offense atthe big square headlights vs the more conservative dual round look.I'm sure there are those who will dissagree, prefering other Jaguar variants... Ah well as the saying goes, to each their own.
