You might want to let us know what kind of car you're talking about and ask the question in the appropriate section.

Back in October 2016 you were giving advice on this topic in XJ40 forum .........

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...in-chf-165287/ (post #5)

........ I wouldn't take anyone's word that the seals are good for an alternative oil unless it came with a written guarantee covering ALL replacement and rebuild costs if they failed.

For the 1990 onward, I always delete the SLS, scrap the pump and valve block, drain the mineral oil and use DEXRON.

The 88/89 and 1994 all use DEXRON in the PAS. The only ones that share the mineral oil are the 4.0 SLS equipped cars.

DEXRON is easier to find (cheaper) than the mineral oil.

Thanks for your reply but what is SLS ? and PAS ? If I guess You mean the rear shocks hydraulic ? yes my car XJ6 1990 had it but was converted to regular shocks when I got the car from my cousin the steering was not working and was low on oil the color was red I add the mineral oil so the steering was working but oil leak started I bought a result rack and after 3 month it started to lead oil badly, I assume that I destroyed the seals with the bad/mixed oil. so now I sent my original rack to CW bought all new hoses going to remove the pump ( don't know yet how) and send it to rebut , flush the cooler and thinking to use the original mineral oil

Remove the SLS pump and valve block!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Install a single hose to the PAS pump and fill the system with DEXRON.
