Default XJ40 water hose fail under intake manifold

I didnt even realized that there was a water hose down there, until of course it got busted.

I am going to attach a picture so you could see it better.

What I need to remove to get to that hose?

Please tell me I dont have to remove the all intake manifold, to get access to replace that hose.

Since I going to be there I will make sure I replace all hoses if there is any more down there, to avoid this hassle.

If someone has done this job, let me know how to tackle. I dont want take parts apart that dont need it to be.

The hose is towards the front of the engine, if I am not mistaken it is attached to the water pump,or the thermostate housing.

My jaguar is 1992, xj6 soveraing

thanks in advance.

to add a footnote, the hose is hoocked up to the water pump, not to the thermostate housing. it seems that, what I need to remove is the thermostate housing, to make some way to remove or replace the hose that got busted.
Am I in the right direction?

If you have a '92 you need to post in the XJ40 forum, you should get a better response.

I'll move it over. LOL

I seem to remember someone else had this problem at the begining of the year, snag is I can't remember who it was.

Although I think that they managed to change the hose without taking everything apart.

I could be wrong but it might well have been one of our Australian friends.

Try the search function with XJ40 hoses.

I had to do mine in the parking lot at work and it was a pain in the ****. Small hands help, but it can be done without a tear down. I just pulled the vac and electrical connectors off and out of the way so I would break them and went at it from the top side. It will not be quick and patience will be required.

Thanks for your input, yeah, I managed to get it out of there without tearing apart, the thermostate housing, I did have to move the air filter, and some vacumm lines.
I am replacing all the hoses around that area, so I dont have to worry or deal anymore.
thanks much for your input.

Here are some photos taken by a poster on JagLovers of the way he did it.

http://www.jag-lovers.org/snaps/snap...?id=1260066524

Looking at these just now, it is a Canadian car and doesn't seem to have the air pump fitted on US cars, unless he has already removed it. I could be wrong here since I'm not familar with US spec either...
Anyway, I hope it helps a bit.

Default here are some of my pictures

As you can see the MF hose, that some of you guys are called, I am still waiting for my parts to arrive and put some dishwasher soap to put it in, meanwhile I did some degreasing cleaning all around that area, so it wont be that messy and it looks nicer and clean.

thanks for your input, guys.

Default Jaguar Version

A question, I ordered some parts online like the hoses, but I got few items that does not match what I have, how I could tell if my jaguar isn't an american version?

I even went to my local autoparts, and in their computer shows the different things that I have.

Iam talking for example my water pump hoses that goes into the reservoir, it is too short and the bends on the hose does not match.

So can someone tell me how I can figure it out what version do I have?
do you need the vin #?

xj6, 92 soveraing

Just did the hose replacement on my early '88 XJ6 (American Spec). It went quite smoothly. Then I discovered a leaky water pump seal...Doesn't anyone sell the water pump repair kit anymore?
