Default XJ40: What is the loop in the picture above the brake rotor, please?

1994 XJ6: top of both inner, rear wheel arches contain a pretty solid mount. It looks like them could have held an anti-roll bar? The car handles fine. The rubber bushings are completely sharp-edged like they were never used. They appear original to the car. What attaches to this? Did the previous owner take out a roll bar or?? I am bracing myself for a Duh-answer. Best regards

Are you talking about the bump stop?

It protrudes so very little below the chassis. If it is a bump stop, it is completely non-functional. Lucas? Regards, Bo
