Default adjustment for voltmeter???

Checking to see if the voltmeter can be adjusted. if so, can someone tell me how? My voltmeter reads around 11~12 volts when driving, but I have repeatedly checked the battery, while the engine is running, and see 13+ volts. I'd like to adjust the voltmeter so that it reads properly. is this possible?

Thanks,

Eric

Never tried it but, yes, there is (I'm told) an adjustment screw on the back of the voltmeter itself.....at least on the mid-late Ser IIIs with Veglia gauges.

Yea, mine does the same thing. My meter shows 14.1v but my gauge reads somewhere in the low 12's.

Is that back of that gauge tough to get to?

You can probably reach it if you remove the under-dash trim panel. If not, it isn't difficult to undo the bracket and pull it thru the dash. There's probably .....ha ha, probably....enough harness length to leave it connected while you make your adjustment

I think to access the voltmeter the tach is supposed to be removed, supposedly by turning the face counter-clockwise, I believe. Then reaching through and unsecuring the voltmeter, allowing it to come though the dash. Having said that, I have half heartedly tried turning the tach faceplate with no success. Anyone tried this approach?

I always forget whether it's clockwise or counter-clockwise but you have to push inward rather forcefully while turning.

FTR, whichever direction turning removes the tach, the opposite direction removes the speedo.
