That's what I was thinking - those aren't parts cars; those are projects...

Fixing to bring this poor thing home in a few weeks...

Too late for the 7" headlights - pulled them off that very car last weekend - buckets, trim rings, halogen lights - $20
Went back there this morning and was going to snag the MAF, distributor and amplifier - but only the distributor was left -$35

The license plates on this car showed it was last registered in about 96 and looked like it had been baking in the AZ sun since then, and it was pretty trashed. The leather had shrunk so bad there were 4" wide splits in the seats.

I feel your pain. I hear them in my head croaking in a tiny British voice from the most melodramatic war film you can think of "don't... let... me.. die..."

same thing happened with the almost 25 thousand Jaguar S type made from mid 1963 to mid 1967. Abandoned, junked, trashed, crushed.
Now collectors are realizing the loss and are trying to rescue them worldwide. Plenty of Jaguar MK-2 but few Jaguar S types, which are the better MK-2 with the IRS suspension and twin tanks.

The reason I can't stop buying them, I rescued two of the poor once to Africa which has recently arrived and awaiting clearance from the port.

The gold run and drive but the silver is yet to be diagnosed to know what her trouble, moreover, the silver at same time arrived with damaged tires but I will replace the 4 tires tomorrow

They will be treated as queens in my country

Gregory, you know I agree the MK-2 body is the better looking design of the small Saloons.

in fact, I think the MK-2 and the S type are two completely different cars, with the S type borrowing styling cues from the MK-2, but otherwise not really comparable.

In fact 2: I don't really think the S type is the better of the two cars either, I only say that to harass MK-2 owners. The S type is a heavier car, sluggish as a pregnant cow.

it is known that when the S type was being designed, two of the designers said in disgust "Can we do better than THIS ?"
Lyons fired them. But sales proved them right.

The 420 was another fiasco

The interior of the S-Type is somewhat more luxurious, and the IRS is an improvement...but apart from these aspects the Mk 2 wins hands down...and yes, I know that you will agree.

Here in Oz, the Mk 2 commands far higher prices.

for me, the XJ is the same car as a MK-X and 420-G, just put on a diet where it lost 2 tons of blubber.

Mikega, given all the work you did on your car the two new ones are in good hands. One right-hand drive and one left-hand? Which is normal for your country?
