Hello, is there anyone on here that could point me in the direction of the CRANK POSITION SENSOR on a 1983 XJ6 4.2 I am under the impression it is around the front pulley wheel but I am stuffed if I can see it let alone get a hand in to feel around for it. Before I start removing things to get to it I just wanted to check that is where it lives. I have searched online and looked through the manuals but have had very little luck with the exact location.

Firstly welcome aboard. Please do a formal type intro in the "New Members Area" when time permits.

The S3 4.2 NO GOT crank angle sensor.

Your post really belongs in the XJ6 S1,2,3 area, but dont panic, you will find your way real soon.

 

Hi thanks for your advice. Well that would be why I can't find the thing. So bang goes that theory of the no start and back to the drawing board.

 

The crank and cam position sensors are built into the DISTRIBUTOR.
