In order:
Car number ( VIN) Engine Number
Body number Transmission number
Car number ( VIN) Engine Number
Body number Transmission number
I know it's a NA Car with BW 65 Tranny. Is that the Engine S/N after the 8L ? 5J Body S/N or what ?
What s the 025 27138 ?
What s the 025 27138 ?

Yes, 8L is the engine number, 5J is the body number and 025 is the transmission number.

I suspect the poster was caught by the silly "related threads" thing the forum software does, which is usually not related at all.

Warranty expired decades ago. Assume you're being humorous. I'm asking from a collectability & value standpoint.

yes, from a collectability standpoint I would not touch it if it was my car. Original is original pretty or not. Even value is affected when originality is disturbed. Originally Posted by Excalibur2012

I suppose you could always have a new one made and epoxy it over the original if you wanted the best of both worlds…
