Default Entering radio code 87 XJ6

Hey all,
I had to disconnect my battery to do some electrical work, and now i need to enter a code to unlock the radio. I have the code, the only issue is entering it. I'm not sure if you need to enter the physical code or push each button a number of times (ie. 3-4-5-2-1 would mean push #1 3 times, #4 4 times etc..). Also, what position should the ignition be in when entering the code?

Thanks

Key "on"

The stations buttons should be numbered (as I recall...been years since I had one) so you'd push button 1 once for "1", push button 2 once for "2", etc etc

Cheers
DD

On my 87 it is easy to enter the code like Doug said. I found my code written on the radio itself luckily.
