finally some pics of my series III (bittersweet)
unfortunately the time has come that I must sell my first jag... but before its gone, here are some pictures. Thank you all so so much for helping me work on this vehicle, its been fun. I will still show up on here time to time, offering help, comments, and the like when I can. besides, this wont be my last jag, when I am able I'd love to start looking for another, only with a v12 under the hood
I'm sure I'll be on here ALOT then haha, I know they are a little more complex.
anyways, if any of you happen to be interested in this vehicle please let me know, I'd feel so much better working out a deal with a fellow jag enthusiast. If not, no worries, see you guys around =)

That's one pretty car...I hope you find a good owner. I would have jumped all over this a few months ago. I would have saved a lot of time by not bringing my S1 back to life. Good luck with the sale.
Oh, would that I could afford/justify another car in my driveway! You're nearby, it's the same year as mine, it's beautiful and it has (one of) the wood steering wheels! *sigh* I could only dream, I reckon. Good luck with the sale!
Lovely car there !
If you're after a V12, the Series 3 V12s were made up to 1992, and then the XJ40 got the V12. A very few X300s were made with the V12 engine before the price of fuel killed it off. What I don't know is whether any of the post-Series 3 saloons were exported to the USA. The last of the V12s was a 6 litre, the Series 3s having the usual 5.3 litre.
I'd love one but have nowhere to put one, and the price of petrol here in the UK is so eye-watering, I wouldn't be able to go out in it very often. My X350 3 litre is bad enough at 24 mpg, but the V12s are down in the 12-16 region !

AH! very interesting, pretty amazing actually, 6.0l v12 in a sedan! I always thought the 4.2 was big! anyone know the difference in performance between the 6.0 and 5.3 v12's? is the v12 in the series III and the xjs the same engine?

The V12 is the same engine in the saloon and the XJS, production was too small to make it economic to offer different versions. Although a 6 litre engine sounds absolutely monstrous, they were always tuned for laziness rather than tyre burning, Pretty powerful all the same, though. Just a bit thirsty on fuel, whereas the other, later, engines gave almost the same performance, and in some cases better, for much better economy
Basically the same engine except certain years, the XJS's had a Morelli ignition fitted that in some cases proved problematic and had a tendency to set fire when not serviced regularly.
The Series III V-12 all came with a bullet proof lucus ignition. Although not originally exported to the USA, many V-12 series III's have since found their way down there.
I just put an add on craigslist, as well as an add on the private classifieds section of this forum. If you have an extremely dazzling car maybe it would be worth going the e-bay route.
best of luck to you.
