Default Fuse #3 Blowing

Hi Everyone,

In my 1983 XJ6 Series 3, US spec. LHD, fuse #3 blew on me yesterday. Every time I try to replace it, it blows right away. So, clearly some positive wire is pinched somewhere coming off of that fuse. I was just wondering if anyone knows the routing of wires coming off of that fuse? Hopefully, someone knows of a common "pinch point" that can help point me in the right direction. I pulled both of the inline fuses for the radio, and tried to reinstall fuse 3 and it blew right away. Given that, it is not the radio or its wiring but rather the antenna, or courtesy lights. If it is the radio wiring, it would be somewhere before that little 5 amp and 1 amp inline fuse. Any ideas? I have had some trouble with the switch in the drivers door jamb not turning the lights on when I open the door. I bought a new one from SNG and was going to install it so, maybe that wire is loose? Thanks in advance!!

Unplug the antenna relay (green, in the trunk near antenna motor) and see if anything changes

Hey Doug, I was hoping you would chime in! I tried unplugging it, but no change. I also removed the scuff plates in the door jambs and replaced the two courtesy light switches in the jambs that didn't work well. Still no change.

I have a theory. I installed some opera lights in the rear. The car didn't originally come with them. I used the factory wiring in the corner of the rear door jambs. I wonder if the wire is coming loose and then grounding somewhere.....

So far, no luck. I put in new courtesy lights in the B pillar. Will check those next.
