Another 6 appeared so I went to take a look! Can't quite figure if this is an aborted convertible project or if someone actually needed an entire top😳

Also the trunk had these interesting wheel covers which I assume went over a stamped steel rim?

Are they "valuable" and worth grabbing? Only 2 though

The wheel covers are from a 1979-1980 XJ6 Series III. Valuable? Very few Series III cars of that vintage still in existence.

The wheel covers are held in place by unique lugnuts....which are impossible to find.

Also hard to find are unbent steel wheels.

I've always thought they were quite handsome

I had those wheel covers on my 1980 Series 3. They are a PITA when you want to have a wheel alighnment done.

They are stainless steel and will polish up very nicely.
I have a set on my 1980 Daimler.

I think that car was on Marketplace for quite some time.. I hate to see it ended up in the LKQ lot...
I've had a couple of sets of those hubs on the shelf for years... They're unique, if nothing else..
Cheers

i think the top chop mwas a styole thing. Or, as was a ractice, i times pasr, making sedans in to parade cars. the dignitaries would sit in the open to receive the cheers of the arade watchers!.. to supplememnt te number of real convertibles that wree available.

My high school hd such a car. a 35 Studebaker. oh, painted in school colors!! Gpld and brown.

HMM. my jaguar is brown? add some gold??

But, for sure, no top chop!
