My free XJ6

Hi everyone- I pretty much inherited an XJ6 and I don't know much about the car. I was considering selling it since I don't have a proper place to store it (convince me otherwise
). I'm very familiar with cars in general but new to a Jaguar and have a few basic questions.
My car was purchased new by my grandfather and kept in a heated garage until '07 when he died. It has 118k and is black with a tan interior with wire wheels and a wood steering wheel (still have the stock one around). Unfortunately it's been outside for the past few years. Still runs great though and only problems that have developed are that the door handles stick, the headliner sagged and the board is very warped, and the woodgrain has cracked more than it was before. I have only driven it short distances for "exercise". The radio doesn't work unless it has a theft protection mode I'm unaware of.
Here's my only question this far, was tilt ever offered with these cars? I have a telescoping column but no tilt, and the steering wheel is still at an undesirable angle.
I really like the car but have yet to really use it and drive it. I think if I was to keep it I'd get some stock mags and put them on, the wires are ok but aren't quite my thing.

U have a few chioces in redoing your top saggy problem first you can magicly summon exactly 1 BUtt load of cash and buy a new one or you can remove the old one and go bu a 50 dollor fiberglass kit.
I just did my 87 VDP and its GREAT.
U can email me sometime or leave a message here and Ill giude you through it. Its easy and it wont ever sag again.

James,
I would love to know more about how you repaired the saggy fiberglass board in the headliner of your 87 VDP. I am facing the same issue with my 87 XJ6 and would love to reuse the board that's in there rather than buy a brand-new one.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Andrew.

Hi member "85xj6sjw"
I'm not sure what has happened with your profile but your post #1& post #4 of this thread has my garage and pics of my cars attached to it somehow.
I would keep the car if I were you,a one owner 85 car is rare, and it's been in your family from new.
Can anyone else see my Garage in the header or is it just me?
