Default S3 Exhaust front downpipe

Does anyone know if this downpipe from SNG Barratt is a direct replacement for the pipe that I have on my 1985 S3 (Canada with Catalyst can). I'd dearly like to replace the factory one with one of these.

That’s what I put on my 83 before I lumped it, you will need to weld in an o2 bung!

Darren, Did you use this specific SNG part? Was it a straight swap or was additional fabrication/modification required? I understand about the O2 sensor bung needing to be welded in.

Mine came from Paul’s jaguar , looked the same, however I also replaced the mid pipe with a non cat one, so cannot say how well it would have lined up with stock pipe, guess I should have mentioned that, sorry

the SNG link does not show the pipe.

But if it is the Euro downpipe, ( no cat, no O2 bung ). it should fit. Also there is a Euro Y pipe to replace the Y pipe with cat.

Just cut the bung from the cat and weld it into the Euro pipe.

I've been looking at various parts catalogs, SC Parts Group, SNG, Welsh etc and they all show differing part numbers for the Series 1,2 and 3 models. There are also downpipes with 4 hole manifold flanges and 2 hole ones, but I assume either flange design would work. I'll contact the various companies next week and get their advice.

The most current number (that I'm aware of) is EBC9388. The number has changed several times as evidenced by the illustration below.
