I have a new one but don't want to part with it for the same reason you can't find one. NLA.

I'd suggest David Boger too. Is yours broken?

When I wanted to replace my accelerator cable, I took the old one to the high street motor factor and found a similar one in stock which was from some modern Japanese car or other. I used the original Jag outer cable and had to change the nipple over from my original inner cable to the new one to suit.

It is usually only the inner cable that needs replacing.

I do this sort of thing quite a lot to save having to import parts which are fairly generic.

Doug, I just realized you have a TR6 with a V8! How does the frame/front suspension and rear end fair with the extra torque? Btw.. I think you've been on the other forum as long as I have? Since 84 or so?

I'll put it to you this way: I refer to the car as "The Death Trap".

Been on J-L since 2000. Been here since '09 I think

Ok cool, I have the motor out of mine and of course all kinds of things running through my head. I think I'll leave well enough alone. I loooove the sound of that little six anyway

When talking about replacement cables don't forget there are hundreds of non-automotive uses for cables in machinery.
Some examples include everything from motor mowers to bulldozers and anything in between.
I recently had a 1952 BSA motorcycle clutch cable made at a local cable shop and they were able to replicate the exact cable with correctly swaged fittings and the price was quite reasonable.
It turned out that they also manufacture control cables for non-certified ultra-light aircraft.
So, it is worthwhile to think "outside the box" when chasing down alternative parts.

Default Accelerator Cable

UPDATE:
contact www.speedycables.com in the UK, they manufacture all types of cables, you might need to send them your broken cable.
