Default Stuff Happens to Drivers!

Last time I had Nix out on the road she lost the pretty part of a hubcap.
What's left is Really ugly. She's SO embarrassed.

I would be Astonished at the poor quality attachment until I remember it's lasted well over 40 years!
Google referred me to eBay but of course the seller who lists them is out of stock, and SNG Barratt who lists the rear only.
So the Search is on...........

Any ideas will be Greatly appreciated.

you have the ones with the 5 lug holes? or ones with no lug holes but with a center emblem?

I had the solid ones with jag emblem in the center but removed them after the chrome became dull.

then I found solid ones, no lug holes, no center emblem in California. Very nice they look like the "moon" hubcaps of hot rods.

Amazon has them cheap. Search for "jaguar xj40 hubcaps".

They have 5 lug holes as you see, and on the outside was glued the moon cover with the emblem.

This is one of the plastic rear caps.

This is what they're Supposed to look like.
I may have to walk that section of the road and see if I can find it as no one seems to have one.

Never mind, got it.
It occurred to me to check if the rear covers actually interfered with the bearing cup in the front as I was told it would, hence the different hubcap configurations.

Much ado about nothing, it turns out, like SO much I was told about this car!

Plenty of room under the plastic covers used on the rear for the bearing cup to sit without a problem.

So I put on the spare I had and ordered another from SNG Barratt. Not cheap, but Nothing on a Jag is cheap, and at least I can get it dealt with.

Now all I need to do is find the badge for the hole. Shouldn't be that hard.

Thank you all for your kind attention.

LNR: Is this what you are looking for? If so, it is yours for the price of postage. It has a chrome finish.

Thank you so much, Sanchez, I really appreciate your offer, but 2 replacements (if it happened once, it might happen again) are to be delivered to my house tomorrow.
So we can stop stressing about it.

She'll be parked up for probably the next 6 weeks anyway as CalTrans is replacing a bridge on 99E and totally closed the road, causing a 20 mile detour until July 15 (they say, but this IS CalTrans so it could be September or November). Trucklet gets much better fuel economy, and that extra 20 miles is eating into my gas fund something fierce!
