Straight six, not V6 !

Anyhow....

About 110-115 for a USA car if you have a long road. Maybe 10 mph faster for the ROW car with the higher compression engines

Cheers

hey everyone,
just make sure your tires, brakes, seat belts, and steering are in perfect order before doing 120mph in a car that weighs 3,500 lbs.

Agreed.
Also note the speedos are not accurate and tend to over record by about 10%, so a 130 on the speedo will be about 115-120. Of course the high speed quoted may have been recorded with a satnav. They are pretty accurate, the US Defense Deparment makes sure of that !

I had mine up to (waving) between 115-120 mph 2 days ago and it was registering 183kp/h on the sat nav. Haven't done the calculation but it seems fairly accurate.
Last time I did this speed I had no sat nav with me. No idea what diff ratio I have, never looked when I had it apart to replace seals.

They make sure yours is nowhere near as accurate as theirs too. At least today they arent the only service provider.

That was true up until May of 2000. After that date the military and civilians got the same GPS accuracy. It was called Selective Availability.

The newest version of GPS satellites, called GPS lll, will have no Selective Availability feature.
