my right indicator in the speedo never fails, but the left indicator in the tachometer blinks once or twice and stops blinking.

I believe it is the column switch, i have 4 or 5 flasher relays and it happens with all.

also I have replaced the diode in the tachometer harness, a waste of time. Still does it.

Removing the diode fixes the problem. Check out " LED conversion of all secondary exterior bulbs (with pics)" down towards the bottom of the lengthy thread and you will read about the wiring and removing the diodes. Mine works perfectly now.

It has to do with the indicators blinking at a different rate if one of the bulbs are burned out. It was common across many car manufacturers so people knew if they had a burned out turn signal bulb.

does removing the diode affect the BULB OUT sensors?

is anything else affected by removing the diode?

do you have to remove both diodes or can you just remove one?

Don't know if it affects the bulb out function, installing LED bulbs makes that indicator come on so I just removed the bulb from it.

I assume you can do just one side. You get to them by removing the tech and Speedo so go ahead and try one side. You might want to mark which way it is installed so you can put it back if you don't like it. You can't tell by looking at the diode which way is up (it's covered in gooey tape) but they are definitely directional.

everything else works normally.

Yes I know where the diode is, already replaced it once thinking it was the cause of the problem, but the old diode was fine, and nothing changed.

thanks.
