Default The waiting is the hardest part.

Well after a few delays my 87 XJ6 is due here around 1 EST.

Since I have no space in the garage it will sit outside in the driveway. I've always been of the opinion that it's best to leave it w.out a cover. A good blanket of snow melting off beats a clay bar for getting the gunk off the car. And up here UV exposure is minimal Jan to late March.

Im sure it will be covered with crud afrer a seven hour highway trip on a multicar trailer but hoses at house are winterized. Ill pull whatever solids out underneath and spay some Fluid Film around.

I'm only concerned withe windshield and back windows but if they're leaking already freshly melted water from snow will be the least of my worries.

I'll need to grab a couple cans of gas and stabilizer as the Seller hasn't driven it much....tires are older than me so no need to putz with them as they'll be gone in spring.

I'll pull the battery....supposedly new...and do some anti rodent things but starting tomorrow it'll be in the teens for a week. Oh yeah....better check the anti freeze, VA car!!!!!

love the seat covers.

Car ru s like crud but has been driven less than 50 miles in past two years. Front end is wobbly....brakes could stop a freighter.

I have radio code cards but dealer changed out radio in 1999. Maybe I punched it in wrong.

Cooling fan a bit wobbly. Avon brand hoses though dealer replaced in 02. Still....lots to do during some warm days ahead....warm as in above 35!!! Lots of pix coming

Glad it finally arrived. The engine photos look pretty grease free for the most part and the good brakes a mighty plus. I'll have to check if mine has the tappet clearance sticker, don't recall seeing it. Again, congrats on a super great buy.

I left for NYC to visit my daughter Thursday and there was still a foot of snow on my lawn, as well as higher banks from shoveling the driveway on both sides. Came home Sunday and all the snow was gone.

In the mid 60's Sunday and yesterday....as well as today before we dip back into the 20's again.

Those 100% wool seat covers, Jaguar branded, stunk to high heaven! Left the doors open the past two days and sprayed some ozium on everything. Removed all the carpet and aftermarket Matt's. I had pulled the foam padding up and braced it so the metal floor pans were exposed.....no rust!!

Cleaned the glass and exterior chrome, snowpack sliding off did remove most of the gunk but it'll need a good wash if and when we lose the risk of freezing garden hoses.

The car really looks great.

Im going to drain the gas tanks.....seems pretty simple, no? Then refill w.enough to get me to the gas station. Plugs missing to access tank drains.

I'll swing home early take boat loads of pix
