I believe it's mandatory in all states to have some type of functioning wipers. That being said, a hand operated wiper, I believe is acceptable. I've seen several old hot rods and some British cars that had a single blade on the outside, with a handle on the inside of the windshield to be manually operated. I do believe that is all you have to have. I could be wrong??? But I don't think so. Ask the friendly Policeman and ask him to look up the statute, on it.

Unfortunately the linkage on my engine crane piston took a dump, so i got a new 8 ton piston coming in the mail. The whole crane cost me 100$ and was used so im not too miffed about it.
Anyway! Notched the firewall and now the cummins is closer than ever to fitting properly with enough room for belts/radiators/intercooler/fun stuff
Going to go with some rubber lines temporarily going to a dual pass trans cooler until i find someone to make legit 1/2" lines.
triple disc converter came in the mail
waiting on my front crank seal and rear pickup tube to come in so i can test the engine again.
Removed the battery holder due to tiny *** battery size and needing to make it bigger for the bigger motor / more amps needed for the starter to overcome the extreme compression of the cummins.
Removed the little sump tank under the battery. Going to just use the large tank for a bit to see how it does.

The main gas tank had nothing in it at all, but the sump tank was full of horrible old bronze colored gas. Smelled horrible. Purged it and removed the entire thing. Removed the sending unit because it was rusty but clean diesel came out of the main tank when i ran it through
Removed the baffle on the filler neck so i can fill up easier
I assume he'll be using an intank pump as well as the high pressure pump on the engine. So an intank pump would eliminate the need for the little sump tank...
The lift pump on the engine pulls fuel from the tank. I don't need any pumps in the rear from the advice I've been getting on the diesel forums. The sump tank is extremely rusty as well. I question the inside of it.
almost no one here know what a Cummins 5.9L ,12 valve can do,
make over 800HP BUT over 1500 ftlb. torque, without revin into hi rpm numbers.
I know you're a diesel engine fan Ron, however my information on Cummins 5.9L 12 valve engine is that the most powerful version they produced made 235 bhp 460 ft lbs as standard in turbocharged form.
Are you saying that they can be modified to get over three times the power and torque ?

I did not mean you need a pump at the rear. I meant that, as the main tank is very wide, the fuel sloshes to one side on cornering and the main tank central fuel exit pipe gets exposed to air and the fuel pressure drops, with the possibility your diesel injectors get air in them. The sump tank makes a good collection point that is always full of fuel. No reason it cannot be piped directly from there to the engine pump, without needing a pump in the boot (trunk).

Boy Pud I sure wish you were closer. I just found out when my XJs had the engine fire it also burnt everything under my dash! You can't tell it from the outside but I was going to pull the interior, as I need to do some cutting to clear the headers, and didn't want to set it a fire! To late, it's already toast! So now I'm looking for a Parts car. Damn the Luck.
