1996 xjs color combination
To All,
I am in need of some information.
Can anyone tell me the easiest way to find out how many 1996 jaguar xjs’s were built with Spindrift white body paint and a burgundy convertible top.
The only information that I can locate from AI so far……….Is that it is an extremely rare combination. It does not spell out a quantity.
Thanks

That is an unusual color combination. Don't recall ever seeing it. I wonder what interior color(s) would have been offered with that combination ? I would think burgundy interior would be the only color that would look right. Wonder if that interior color was offered in 1996 ? Good luck with your search.
Rickr,
Coffee color all original interior.
I had it on the market for sale a while back but just couldn’t part with it.
Probably will put it back up for sale……Trying to figure out how rare a combination I have.

As Doug says, contact Jaguar Heritage. If you do, be clear about what you mean by "1996". If you mean "1996 Model Year" (I can't remember the precise VIN changepoint offhand, but can check it later for you) then tell them that, as here in the UK we tend to think of a 1996 car as one built in 1996, which is quite different to Model Year.
Good luck

As mentioned it has a burgundy color on the convertible top.
I remember the first jaguar sponsored showing I attended in St Petersburg, Florida, one of the judges wanted to disqualify me because of the color (burgundy) but a couple of the other judges convinced him that it was in fact one (1) of the options offered….Not many were aware!!
First show….2nd place!
Anyway it’s back up for sale since it is definitely getting more difficult for me to work on……It’s going to be a good purchase for whoever buys it.
I will get ahold of the nation jag association to see if they can help.
thanks

From memory, the boot cover colour was matched to the interior colour, hence many of the cars having Cream boot covers. My Sapphire Blue car has a Blue hood but a Cream hood cover.

I do have the original boot cover and it matches the interior….Coffee Color.
also contacted Jaguar heritage regarding the color combination. They want almost $200 bucks to provide the info……..seems a bit much!
Does anyone have any other ideas on how to obtain info? Would like to any costs minimal or consider a donation.
