Hi BB,
It is truly amazing, whilst reviewing these pics, to see just how far you came with your car.

I just hope you didn't use that bike to get work. LOL

Cool

back from the body-shop at the end of last October ,they had her for four weeks , 14 coats of paint in total ,

new headlining installed, there is no card on this due to a factory fitted sunroof , so it was a custom fit , all done by me

Gobsmacked. Great job, you must be proud. Thanks for the in-progress photos.
What are you going to do with your time now?

Wow, amazing job! I bet it drives as sweet as it looks I do have one question for you... I myself am into a light restore, more like a much needed touch up i guess. When you were redoing the wiring, did you buy new harnesses or refurbish the ones in it? And any advice on finding easy to follow wiring diagrams? As you can probably tell, I am in the middle of a bit of a wiring nightmare! Great job once again!

I think that's its also worth noting that your taste level is clearly all there. Too often people do restorations only to totally miss the mark with the choice of color, rims or other personal touch. In your choice of color, rims, and trim combination you managed to pull of what looks like a a top line special edition of the XJ-S designed right at Jaguar headquarters. Great , great work.

BTW, are those 2005-10 XJ rims or S type? It's incredible how well they work.

What an incredible restoration! She is stunning. However did you keep yourself pushing on with all those complex rust-through repairs? My congratulations on a beautiful job, well done! Are you daunted at all by actually taking your precious out on the open road amongst all the uncaring, reckless heathen out there? Enjoy the ride.

I'm afraid that my wiring was in great condition , with no broken connectors etc, the only one that i had to rebuild was the injector harness in the engine , other than that, no issues ,

there are online wiring diagrams of the XJS , though you have to be year and market specific, as several items across the pond are not required in the UK , and visa versa

hope the rest of the refurbishment goes ok ,

thanks for the great comments

here in the UK we have to have an annual safety check on every vehicle over three years old called an MOT , ( ministry of transport ) without this , you cant get insured , or taxed ( road fund license ) and are therefor illegal to drive on UK roads, fortunately she passed with flying colours, and i have taken her out several times to date, yesterday being the most recent to a meeting of XK's at a nearby airfield , a good drive and a bacon butty as well, a good morning out
