Default 88 xjs v12 should i bleed

i read Dougs instructions on how to bleed the coolant system.
wondering if this may be my problem. Recently changed power steering pump. meaning i had to remove the drivers side upper radiator hose to the engine. A good bit of coolant spilled out. Once the power steering pump was on i connected everything back up. filled coolant system back up.
Never had a problem with running hot, but ever since this the needle on the temp guage is running above normal. really scary today went to about 1/2 way between normal and as hot as it can get. Hope i have done no damage. i let her cool down for an hour or so AND SHE CRANKS RIGHT UP, wondering if i may need to bleed the system now???????????????

did you check to make sure the coolant was full after you drove it?

Just my opinion, but yes, you should bleed it. Anytime you break open the system you introduce air bubbles which can cause problems. Better safe than sorry!
As a side note, when I did mine I also added in 2 bottles of Royal Purple Ice Super Coolant additive. My engine temps run almost exactly between the C and the N.

bouncing like that could be a trapped air bubble, or you have bad thermostats. Sometime it takes a few tries to get all the air bubbles out.

concentrated antifreeze will cause the car to run way too hot. water keeps the engine cool, and antifreeze raises the boiling point and lowers the freezing point.
