96 xjs door lock
Having a problem with driver side door. If you hit the remote when locked it opens everything except the drivers side door (most of the time). When you hit the remote to lock everything locks except the drivers side door. Any ideas before I tear into this?
I have the same problem.
It's muck and grime getting into the lock mechanism and stopping the door lock from fully moving.
I try every so often some WD40 through the keyhole itself but the best way to sort it is remove the door card and thoroughly clean and grease the lock mechanism.
I think if there is the slightest amount of resistance the lock motor will not fully move.
You can normally confirm it by simply moving the door lock backwards and forwards a few times to free the mechanism up.
I do this as part of the yearly routine maintenance. My car is parked outside so needs to be done.

I think Andrew is right then. It's probably just a lube issue.
I prefer to use a 100 percent silicone lubricant over wd40.
