Hello all,
I want to add some fog lights to my 1994 XJS and it seams ready for it. It has plugs at the foglight location, and it has a fog light button in the cabin located right of the steering wheel in a left LHD car.
however if I turn the car on and turn on the foglight button I get no power at the foglight plug. even if I have the headlights on.
Did Jaguar omit a fuse or a relay some where if the car didn't come with the fog light option?

 

I found this thread, is this my best approach? or is there simply a switch I can buy and plug in?

That switch turns on the rear fog lights only. You will see a red light in the warning cluster.
To get front fogs you will need another type of switch and a shorting plug.

and of course the lights'' If you keep looking or call some breaker yards you might find cheaper.

 

Yes, there is a switch that Jaguar made for that purpose.
Many years ago I bought the switch for my 94(there was some wiring mods required with the neighboring switch).
After the installation I found the Jaguar fog lights I bought were a big problem.
The bulbs got really hot and either blew out or the heat cracked the glass lenses.
I think I sunk about $400 into that before I ripped them out.
