Default Alarm problem .Won't stop beeping on my 1996

I made the mistake of trying to open the door using my key and the alarm went on. Unfortunately its not stopping from beeping- at least I know it works
I disconnected one battery connector and reconnected the battery , the car starts no problem but the alarm is still on screaming bloody murder .

Suggestions would be kindly appreciated My neighbors will be be grateful too
Terry

You will have to use the key fob and disarm the alarm. I think their is another way if you don’t have the key fob, but I’m not sure how. But if you have the key fob just press the button to arm/disarm the alarm

I have tried that , of course, pressing numerous times on the key fob but the alarm stays on.I tried starting the car, and the alarm stays on even with the engine on

Get in the car, put the key in the ignition Turn ignition switch "ON" but do not start engine. Turn the key back and then on again, repeat five times.

I think your Fob needs a battery or its busted. I had the same experience when the battery in the fob died. Once youre able to manually disable it, you should be able to drive it without issue
