I am thinking about purchasing a subscription. What are your opinions on alldata?

I can only go by the very reputable mechanic/shop owner who recently did all the R/M on my '89 XJS Conv. -He admitted he hadn't worked on an XJS before, but had a lot of European experience. He showed me the AllData program, how he simply typed in the Make, Model and Year, and it gave him practically every maintenance, R/R, and upgrade work for the car, step by step, blown-up drawings, and time required for the work.
He replaced my Inboard Rear Calipers, Rotors, pads and E-pads. Diff seals and bearings were replaced, along with Rear Coil Springs, and all (6) Koni Shocks. He replaced the Trans. mount spool bushing, Trans. filter and fluid.
Moving to the front of the car, I had him replace the Sparkplugs, Dist. Cap and Rotor and Wires. Lastly was the Coolant Hoses. I had bought all these parts over the summer, and thought it best to have it all done at once, while in the shop with the hoist.
He chose to drop the complete rear cage, saying he wanted to see what he was doing properly.

When he was finished, I asked him if anything gave him trouble, he replied he had all the info in front of him, and would not have done the work without the AllData program.

My approach with the XJS is that you can never have too much information on it.

I have everything, ie ROM, JDHT CD, alldata.

I have found all data to have unique info inside. I think it's cheap, ie less than one hour labor charge

Repair Operations Manuals

That's Jaguar speak for "service manual".

AllData is very good IMHO. As mentioned, you can't have too much information on these cars.

Cheers

Is there any difference between the alldata DIY info and that available in All Data for the Repair Industry and All Data for the Collision Industry?
