Default A/C Climate Control fan stuck running / will not shut off

My A/C climate control fan won't shut off; neither with fan control in the off position nor when the key is off - this happened once previously when stopped at a store but was fine upon returning home. The problem started up again yesterday and has continued throughout today; I've taken her out a few times and waited some time for it to shut off to no avail - I'm assuming I have a stuck relay or something; fan runs on low speed; currently have the battery disconnected.

Suggestions on where to start?

Thanks,
Steve

If you’re referring to the blower fan inside the cabin, the Darlington transistor is failing or has failed. You can remove the fuse in the meantime, and repair the blower. You can search for a fix here on the forums.

If you’re referring to the external fan outside, in front of the AC condenser, the temp switch on the radiator, failed. You can disconnect the harness to the switch, while its parked.

Thanks @Brewtech - Sorry, should have been clearer - talking about the cabin blower fan. I'll search repairing / replacing the Darlington transistor and fan(s) assuming the transistor is attached or inside the fan housing.

BTW, my rig is a 'Lump'; Chevy conversion and something to play around with and have fun modifying to a degree as opposed to a purist classic car - so... any suggestions on modifying to improve function and/or reliability is appreciated; I don't mind losing any automatic control functions and actually prefer manual control wherever possible.

Best,
Steve
